Dr. Anne Rentoumis Cappola is a Professor of Medicine in the Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism at the University of Pennsylvania and Executive Director of the Penn Medical Communication Research Institute. She is also an Attending Physician at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and a Fellow at the Institute on Aging. Dr. Cappola holds a B.A. in Biochemistry from Harvard College, an M.D. from the University of Pennsylvania, and an Sc.M. in Clinical Epidemiology from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. Her NIH-funded research focuses on hormonal changes associated with aging and their clinical impact, including thyroid dysfunction, cardiovascular disease, frailty syndrome, and metabolic changes following hip fractures. She is also an Associate Editor for the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA).
