ANTONIO MATRONE

Dr. Antonio Matrone, MD, PhD, is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Department of Clinical and Experimental Medicine, University of Pisa, specializing in the clinical (diagnosis and management) and translational aspects of Differentiated and Medullary Thyroid Cancer. His research particularly focuses on the management of differentiated thyroid cancer, from active surveillance to radioiodine-refractory cases (RAI-R DTC) and familial and sporadic medullary thyroid cancer. He was involved in several clinical trials for advanced medullary thyroid cancer. He earned his medical degree from Università degli Studi della Campania "Luigi Vanvitelli" and completed his residency in Endocrinology at the University of Pisa. He has been a Research Fellow in Endocrinology at the University of Pisa since 2018.
