Carmen C. Pazos-Moura, MD, PhD is a Full Professor at the Carlos Chagas Filho Institute of Biophysics, Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ). She specializes in endocrine physiology, focusing on hypothalamic-pituitary-thyroid axis regulation, thyroid hormone action, energy homeostasis, and obesity. Dr. Pazos-Moura has held leadership roles in the Brazilian Society of Endocrinology and Metabolism and UFRJ's graduate program. A former visiting researcher at Harvard Medical School, she has contributed to journals like Endocrinology and Frontiers in Physiology and currently serves as a scientific advisor for FAPERJ.
