FERRUCCIO SANTINI

Ferruccio Santini was born in January 1961. He earned his M.D. degree from the University of Pisa in 1985 and completed his specialization in Endocrinology at the same institution in 1988. From 1990 to 1993, he worked as a research fellow at the Division of Endocrinology at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). In 1996, he obtained his PhD in Endocrinological and Metabolic Sciences.
Currently, he serves as a Professor of Endocrinology at the University of Pisa, where he is also the head of the Obesity and Lipodystrophy Center and the Director of the Endocrinology Unit at the University Hospital of Pisa. He is an active member of several scientific societies and has previously served as president of the Italian Society of Obesity. Santini has coauthored over 240 publications indexed in the PubMed database of the U.S. National Institutes of Health's National Library of Medicine. His current research focuses on the pathophysiology of the thyroid gland and the disorders of adipose tissue.
