Adjunct Professor at the Carlos Chagas Filho Institute of Biophysics, Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), associated with the Translational Endocrinology Laboratory. She holds a cum laude Bachelor's in Biological Sciences (Medical Biology) from UFRJ (2006), a Master's and PhD in Biological Sciences (Physiology) from IBCCF (2008; 2012), and completed postdoctoral research at the University of Amsterdam (2014-2015) and IBCCF (2015-2018), where she also served as a postdoctoral representative on the advisory board. She supervises graduate and postgraduate students. Her expertise includes Physiology, Endocrinology, Cell and Molecular Biology, Immunology, and Inflammation, with a focus on thyroid hormones, non-thyroidal illness syndrome, muscle function, sarcopenia, cellular activation and differentiation, and inflammation.
