Prof. Köhrle is a Senior Professor of Molecular Endocrinology at the Institute of Experimental Endocrinology, Charité-Universitätsmedizin Berlin, a position he has held since 2017 after serving as its Director from 2002 to 2017. He holds a Ph.D. in biochemistry and endocrinology from the University of Hanover and received his Habilitation in Experimental Endocrinology from the Medizinische Hochschule in Hanover in 1991. Currently, he is the President of the German Society for Endocrinology (DGE) and serves as Editor-in-Chief of Endocrine Connections. He is also a member of multiple endocrinology journal editorial boards and chairs the EDC working group of the European Society of Endocrinology, contributing to the EU EDC task force of the Endocrine Society.
