Dr. Laura Sterian Ward is a Full Professor at the Faculty of Medical Sciences (FCM) at UNICAMP, with a background from the Escola Paulista de Medicina-UNIFESP, where she completed her Master's and PhD in Clinical Medicine - Endocrinology. She also undertook a postdoctoral fellowship in Molecular Genetics with a focus on Cancer at the University of Cincinnati, USA. She was responsible for implementing the Cancer Molecular Genetics Laboratory at FCM and has focused on studying the relationship between the environment, autoimmune diseases, and thyroid tumors. She has written over 200 articles and 80 book chapters, as well as edited 6 books. With extensive experience in Endocrinology, Oncology, Molecular Biology, and Nanotechnology, Dr. Ward has mentored over 100 students and led various research projects with international collaborations.
