MARIA IZABEL CHIAMOLERA

Dr. Chiamolera graduated in Medicine from the Escola Paulista de Medicina, Federal University of São Paulo (UNIFESP) and completed a residency in Endocrinology and Metabolism at UNIFESP, followed by a PhD in Clinical Endocrinology. She pursued postdoctoral research at Johns Hopkins University (2006-2010) and is currently a faculty member in the Endocrinology discipline at UNIFESP, working in Thyroid, Thyroid and Pregnancy, and Neuroendocrinology. She also coordinates the Endocrinology Medical Residency Program and conducts research at the Laboratory of Molecular and Translational Endocrinology (LEMT), focusing on endocrine disruptors, thyroid and pregnancy, and thyroid hormone resistance. Additionally, she serves as a Medical Consultant in Endocrinology at Fleury Medicina Diagnóstica. Her expertise includes thyroid hormone biology, nuclear receptor molecular studies, and the impact of endocrine disruptors such as glyphosate-based herbicides and bisphenol A on thyroid regulation.
