MICHELE MARINÓ

ITALY
Born in Martina Franca (Italy). He graduated in Medicine and Surgery in 1991 and specialized in Endocrinology and Metabolic Diseases in 1996, at the University of Pisa. He completed his training at the Pathology Research Laboratory of the Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School (1997-2000) as a Post-Doctoral Fellow, obtaining the Grant of the American Thyroid Association in 1999. From 2000 to 2003 he was a staff physician at the University Hospital of Pisa. From 2004 to 2018 he was an Assistant Professor in Endocrinology at the University of Pisa. Since 2018 he is an Associate Professor in Endocrinology at the University of Pisa. Head of the Hospital Day and the Outpatient Clinic for the study and treatment of Graves' Orbitopathy. His clinical activity concerns in particular thyroid diseases and Graves' Orbitopathy. His research activity concerns the pathogenesis and treatment of Graves' Orbitopathy, the synthesis of thyroid hormones, for which he obtained funding from the Ministry of University and from the University of Pisa. In addition to various Book Chapters, Michele Marinò is the author of numerous publications in peer-reviewed International Journals, most of which as first or last author Michele Marinò is a member of the European Group On Graves' Orbitopathy (EUGOGO), of the European Thyroid Association, of the American Thyroid Association, of the European Society of Endocrinology, of the Italian Society of Endocrinology, and of the Italian Thyroid Association.
