Dr. Noriyuki Koibuchi, M.D., Ph.D. is a Professor of Gunma University and the President-Elect of Ota University of Medical Science. He is currently serving as a Council Member (treasurer) of Asia-Oceania Thyroid Association and Japan Thyroid Association. He graduated from Gunma University School of Medicine for his M.D. degree and obtained Ph.D. at the Institute of Endocrinology, Gunma University. After serving as a postdoctoral fellow at the Rockefeller University, he appointed as an Assistant Professor of Physiology at the Dokkyo University School of Medicine, followed by a Visiting Assistant Professor at the Harvard Medical School. Then, he became a Professor of Integrative Physiology, Gunma University Graduate School of Medicine, in 2001. His main interests are the molecular mechanisms of thyroid hormone action on brain development and plasticity, ant its modulation by environmental chemicals.
