Dr. Paula Bargi Souza is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Physiology and Biophysics at the Institute of Biological Sciences at the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG). She holds a degree in Biological Sciences from São Paulo State University (2007), a Master's (2010) and Ph.D. (2015) in Sciences (Human Physiology) from the University of São Paulo, with a research stage at the National Institutes of Health (NIH, Bethesda, USA). Dr. Souza completed her postdoctoral research at the University of São Paulo (2015-2019) and at the Institut de Génomique Fonctionnelle (Montpellier, France - 2017-2018). She currently leads the Endocrine Circadian Physiology (FEnCi) research group and collaborates with several institutions, including UEM (Brazil), UNAM (Mexico), NIH (USA), and IGF (France). Her research focuses on thyroid hormones, circadian rhythms, metabolism, and endocrine disruptors. She is a permanent advisor in the Graduate Program in Biological Sciences: Physiology and Pharmacology at UFMG.
