Spyridoula Maraka, M.D., is currently the Chair-elect of the American Thyroid Association (ATA) Women in Thyroidology. She served as a a member of the ATA Task Force for the 2025 Guidelines for Thyroid Disease in Preconception, Pregnancy, and Postpartum. She received her medical degree at the University of Athens School of Medicine in Athens Greece, graduating summa cum laude. Dr. Maraka completed a residency in internal medicine at the University of Connecticut, School of Medicine and a clinical fellowship in endocrinology, metabolism, and nutrition at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. She is currently an Associate Professor of Medicine and Program Director of the Endocrinology fellowship in the Division of Endocrinology and Metabolism in the Department of Internal Medicine at University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences and Chief of the Endocrine Section at the Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System.
