Sun Y. Lee, MD, MSc, ECNU is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the section of Endocrinology, Diabetes, Nutrition, and Weight Management at Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine. She earned her MD from Rutgers University - New Jersey Medical School and her MSc in Epidemiology from Boston University School of Public Health. She completed her residency in internal medicine and fellowship in endocrinology at Boston Medical Center/ Boston University School of Medicine, where she subsequently joined as a faculty. Her clinical practice focuses on thyroid disease. Dr. Lee's research interests include thyroid disorders, iodine nutrition, and thyroid disrupting chemicals, especially in pregnancy. She received funding from the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences. Dr. Lee's research has been published in many peer-reviewed journals and she has presented her work at national and international conferences. Dr. Lee serves on multiple national and local organizations, with roles including the chair of the publications committee and member of survey evaluation task force the American Thyroid Association (ATA), and the immediate past-president of New England Endocrine Alliance. She also serves as an appointed member of the American Thyroid Association Thyroid and Pregnancy Guidelines Task Force and on the editorial board of Thyroid.
