Assistant Professor of Neuroscience Institute.Federico Salas-Lucia is interested in the intersection between Neurobiology and Endocrinology. The Salas-Lucia Lab at the University of Chicago studies how thyroid hormone mediates its actions in the human brain. We use human iPSCs to generate neural cells, cerebral organoids, and organ-in-a-chip models, and have several transgenic mice. We interrogate these models using single-cell, spatial, and bulk RNA-seq analysis. We also use in vivo fluorescence imaging, confocal, and super-resolution fluorescence microscopy, and perform molecular and biochemical assays.
