TANIA MARIA RUFFONI ORTIGA
Full Professor at the Institute of Biophysics Carlos Chagas Filho, and P.I. of the Laboratory of Translational Endocrinology at the Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro, UFRJ, Brazil.
She holds a PhD (2000) in Physiology at UFRJ and in 2005, completed 3 years of postdoctoral training at the Department of Endocrinology of The University of Chicago.
Visiting Researcher at the School of Medicine at Johns Hopkins University (2006-2009). Throughout this period, she investigated the mechanism of action of thyroid hormones with an emphasis on the development of transgenic animals using the model of resistance to thyroid hormones syndrome, having published more than 50 papers in this area
